Farmhouse style wall sconces are a great way to add that farmhouse charm to your home. It’s a quick and easy way to make a huge impact in your room without spending a ton of money. 

I’m delighted to report I finally chose and purchased new wall sconces for my master bedroom. I’m not sure if I have previously mentioned I was even on the hunt for them, however I was and the hunt has concluded. 

Let me tell you about my old sconces

The sconces that were inherited with the house were originally bronze with a shade over the bulb. Not wanting to spend every penny on the house from the get go , I opted for a quick and easy sconce DIY. To transform those bronze beauties I simply painted them with black chalk paint, removed the shade altogether and swapped out the old bulbs for the Edison style ones. You really cannot get any easier than that.

You can see one of them in the picture below. It’s not the best picture of the sconce but it gets my point across.

Anyway, this quick update made me feel better about living with them for a tiny bit longer. Also it saved money for a few other higher priority projects.

Once I got my new bedding though, that all went out the door. Something just looked off to me. Maybe there needed to be artwork underneath the sconces, well I played around with that a bit , but it wasn’t the solution. Then I thought the night stands needed more decor on them. Not the solution either. Finally it clicked! The sconces! They were too tiny for the space. Once I solved that problem I immediately started my sconce hunt.

Ultimately, the last one on the list (right above ↑ ) was the one I chose. It had everything I was looking for, the color, the size, and that farmhouse style we all know I love so dearly.
